Setteminne Resort Design

Setteminne Resort Design is located on the island of Favignana (TP) and takes its name from the area where it is located, the so-called Contrada Setteminne, so called in ancient times because of the presence of seven calcarenite quarries in the shape of breasts, which are no longer visible today.

We at Lombardo had the pleasure of collaborating with owner Stefania through our interior designer Maria, who was responsible for designing and furnishing the spaces of the charming resort.

Traditional dry stone walls surround the five independent dwellings, equipped with every comfort, the breakfast and aperitif area and the other relaxation areas, enveloping them in an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. The resort is enriched by the presence of a striking calcarenite quarry, now disused, which still shows the characteristic local tuffs with their deep yellow color. In this enchanting space, one can also enjoy a lush garden full of plants and trees of a variety of Mediterranean species: from lemons to pomegranates, almond and carob trees, prickly pears, rosemary, mint, and caper plants that grow wild on the calcarenite walls.

The project was created at the behest of the owner, Stefania, born and raised in Favignana, who after 22 years away decided to return to her “roots,” together with her husband. At the heart of the project is precisely the idea of returning to the roots and simple life of yesteryear. The resort, in fact, was born from a conservative restoration of pre-existing ancient structures, with the recovery of traditional building techniques and local materials, such as tuff; at the same time, the simple and essential yet stylish and modern furnishings were chosen from the best Made in Italy design brands with which we at Lombardo collaborate.

Setteminne Resort Design features a unique combination of top Italian design with elements of local tradition.

The protagonist of the resort’s interior furnishings is Lago, while Kartell and Lyxo were chosen for exterior furnishings, complements and accessories; lighting combines the companies Artemide and Davide Groppi.

The accommodations are configured as small independent apartments, four on the ground floor and the fifth on the second floor, which also has a rooftop terrace. The furnishings of each dwelling are composed of the same elements with variations in color in each dwelling. The entrance to each dwelling is covered by a wooden and bamboo canopy, enhanced by square Kartell Multiplo model table with marble top and Masters chairs also from Kartell. Entering leads to a living area with an Air Lago model sofa , the sofa suspended on transparent glass legs that gives great lightness to the surrounding space, just like the coffee table, also Air Lago, with Wildwood top, and also a linear, suspended kitchen by Lago, elegant, made of glass and complete with all amenities. An elegant sliding door leads to the large bedroom, furnished with the famous Air Lago bed on clear glass legs with Wildwood headboard; a bench , also Air Lago with Wildwood top, 36e8 Lago mirror, Kartell transparent Tip Top nightstands and Kartell model Cara armchair complete the dwelling’s furnishings, along with Artemide ‘s Eclisse model table lamps above the nightstands.

In the fifth small apartment, located on the second floor, through the room there is access to a private terrace, furnished with outdoor elements from the Kartell line: the transparent, two-seater Uncle Jack sofa with two transparent Kartell T-Table model coffee tables; opposite, another small living room, also by Kartell, composed of Be Bop armchairs and another T-Table coffee table. The room is lit by a Kartell Kabuki outdoor floor lamp.

The dining area, where the owner serves breakfasts and aperitifs, is also covered by a large wooden and bamboo canopy under which numerous Kartell Multiplo model tables with marble tops, accompanied by Kartell Masters chairs, are placed. Here guests can have their meals, find an oasis of shade to protect them from the vibrant Sicilian sun, or relax while enjoying the view and the surrounding nature.

The lounging areas, concealed among the dry stone walls, garden and quarry overhangs, feature outdoor furniture by Kartell and Lyxo. These areas are enriched by other Uncle Jack model sofas, Uncle Jim armchairs and T-Table coffee tables also by Kartell, all in transparent finish and suitable for outdoor furniture, as they blend perfectly with the rural and traditional context, giving a touch of modernity and dynamism without, however, obscuring the beauty of the surrounding setting. Other items featured in the outdoor furniture are Slice sun loungers by Lyxo, with their sinuous shapes resembling modern sculptures, and outdoor floor lamps by Davide Groppi, to illuminate lounging areas during nighttime hours.

The collaboration with Stefania and her husband for Setteminne Resort Design is one of the projects we are most proud of.

The resort hosts design-loving clients, who choose it for the exclusivity of the décor and spaces, the uniqueness of the location, and the hospitality.

The successful combination of furnishings signed by the best Made in Italy design brands, with the rural and evocative context linked to local traditions, makes Stefania’s resort a unique place that looks to the future without forgetting its past.
