Piero Lissoni: design excellence.

Architect, art director and designer, Piero Lissoni is one of the most accredited protagonists of today’s design and architecture scene. He graduated in Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1985, and the following year, together with Nicoletta Canesi, he founded the Lissoni&Partners studio, which, in almost forty years of activity, has been able to imagine and carry out a large number of projects in the fields of architecture, interior design, furniture accessories and graphic design. Thanks to the multidisciplinary approach that characterizes his firm, he succeeds in proposing harmonious and focused solutions in each field, giving a distinct imprint to each project.

Over the years, Piero Lissoni has collaborated with prestigious companies both Italian and international, signing projects that stand out for their elegance, purity of lines, attention to details and finishes, and harmony of elements.

Sofas, armchairs, chairs, tables, small tables, storage units for the living area: there are many B&B products that bear Lissoni’s signature. Among them, Eda-Mame: three types of seating in a single object that becomes a piece of furniture capable of giving style and character to the environment.

Then there is the Planck family of round coffee tables, unmistakable because of the structure that widens downward, creating a truncated cone. The wider the diameter, the lower Planck will be. The top is made of glass, but for the base you can choose from satin, glossy or rosewood effect colors. One particular version has a backlit top whose intensity can be adjusted as desired.

The Dambo sofa can also be adapted to any need. In fact, it is a modular system that allows for a variety of compositions. It is composed of irregular rectangles and pentagons, which can also be used as peninsulas, and together they create a soft, enveloping shape.

Also rich in production for Cassina. Standing out for their design are the Mex coffee tables whose simple, clean lines combine surfaces and shapes to create new spaces. The elegance of glass and painted metal is thus associated with the functionality of the compartments. The same line also has an outdoor version.

Clean lines also for the Eve chair. Modern and essential, it can have a wooden or aluminum frame with seat and back made of leather.

For Cassina, Lissoni also designed the Moov sofa: light, suitable for any environment, soft. Available in different lengths and depths, with chaise longue and juxtaposable modules. To enjoy a comfortable space with ease.

Lissoni’s many collaborations also include a long and prolific understanding with Kartell from which some of the company’s best-known pieces were born.

Among them is the Piuma chair, which won the Red Dot: Best of the Best Product Design 2017 award for its revolutionary and daring use in the evolution of technologies and materials: never before has a material containing carbon fiber been injection molded. The seat has a minimal thickness of just a few millimeters, resulting in a seat that is light and thin, yet durable and suitable for outdoor environments.

Unique in its kind is the Trix Sofa, composed of three different elements connected by an elegant system of elastic bands that, through an easy rotational movement, can transform and adapt to different uses.

Lissoni’s interests also include light. And so the Fata lamp was born, featuring a new technology of engraving and machining the mold that allows for ever-changing light reflection depending on the angle from which it is viewed.

These are a few examples of the prolific work of Piero Lissoni, whose wide-ranging activity has been widely appreciated. Many are the international awards that Lissoni has collected over time. We recall the Compasso d’Oro ADI and the Good Design Award. In 2005 Lissoni was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame in New York.
